Job Description

Park Nicollet is looking for our next Clinical Nursing Director to to join our great nursing team at Methodist Hospital! This role will oversee all Med/Surg units as well as our Oncology unit. POSITION SUMMARY STATEMENT:

Under the direction of the Vice President of Patient Care Services, the Clinical Nursing Director is responsible to ensure quality patient care while improving patient safety and medical error reduction that meets the quality and financial targets of the hospital and inpatient nursing department. Accountable for strategic, financial, and operational success of assigned patient care areas and programs. Develops a culture of continual improvement in quality and patient safety, seeking excellence in patient outcomes and minimizing hazards and harm that may result from the processes of care. Ensures that the right resources are in place to meet patient care needs and access to services. Collaborates with appropriate departments and disciplines in ensuring the safest patient care and experience for patients and families. In addition, identifies areas and ensures that practice is consistent with internal and external policies, regulatory agencies, best practice quality standards and Park Nicollet contracts.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Education, Experience or Equivalent Combination:
    • RN degree with master's degree in Health or Business-Related Field required, or annual progress toward completion of Master's Degree.
    • 5 years relevant clinical, management and/or progressive leadership experience, preferably in an acute care hospital setting.
  • Licensure/ Registration/ Certification:
    • Current Registered Nurse license in the state of Minnesota
    • Member of a professional organization either in nursing specialty or nursing leadership
  • Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
    • This position requires intermediate to high level computer/keyboarding with personal computer applications. Skills required, including but not limited to Microsoft Office Suite including excel spreadsheets, PowerPoint presentations and email, calendar, video conference, and word documents.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Education, Experience or Equivalent Combination:
    • Quality Improvement Experience
    • Successful progressive leadership experience
  • Licensure/ Registration/ Certification:
    • Advanced nursing administration certification preferred (NEA-BC)
  • Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
    • Expressed desire/passion to focus on nursing, leadership, and management
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
