Metron is seeking a highly motivated and well-organized individual with prior experience administering US government security policies and procedures to serve as a Facility Security Officer in our Portland, Oregon office. This position will be a part of the Metron Corporate Security Team responsible for National industrial security program operation compliance and for the overall facility security program.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage all aspects of the National Industrial Security Program (NISP) and other security activities including document control, visitor control, personnel security, and management of prime and subcontract DD Form 254 for classified contracting.
  • Conduct periodic self-inspections as directed by the National Industrial Security Program.
  • Review all personnel security paperwork for accuracy, completion, and submission via NBIS and other methods.
  • Provide guidance and instruction to employees to ensure completion of security paperwork.
  • Provide guidance and instructions to employees to ensure any event, circumstance, or act that could be considered a breach of security is reported immediately.
  • Conduct security trainings, briefings, and debriefings.
  • Manage protecting and safeguarding all classified materials (receive, control, route, store, mark, package, mail, and destroy all classified materials and their associated records).
  • Administer Defense Information for Security System (DISS) activity including processing and maintaining personnel security clearances and visit requests.
  • Primary contact for Defense Counterintelligence & Security Agency (DCSA) reviews and correspondence.
  • Establish and maintain a working relationship with DCSA and other Government security officials.
  • Prepare for and participate in the DCSA facility security assessments.
  • Manage the National Industrial Security System (NISS) to maintain facility security information.
  • Investigate and report security violations and draft incident reports.
  • Maintain and monitor NISP approved Open Storage Areas, to include alarm response.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of changes in security rules and procedures.
  • Provide daily functional support to the facilities personnel, physical, and information security requirements.

Required Qualifications:

  • Current Secret DoD Clearance
  • Completed CDSE FSO Program Management for Possessing Facilities
  • Thorough working knowledge of the 32 CFR Part 117 and other relevant DoD security guidance
  • Strong working knowledge of technology compliance
  • US CITIZENSHIP REQUIRED; Successful candidates will be subject to a security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university in a related field
  • At least 1 years' experience as an AFSO or FSO
  • Strong working knowledge of DISS, NISS, SWIFT, and NBIS
  • Strong organizational, administrative, and interpersonal skills, with attention to detail and follow-through
  • Timely communications and efficient time management with demonstrated prioritization skills are mandatory for success in this position
  • Current Top Secret DoD Clearance
