The Medical Assistant will focus on providing comprehensive assistance for the Preventive Cardiology Clinic (PCC).
This is a full-time position working M-F from 8:00 am - 4:30 pm out of Oakdale (location set to open in June). Until the Oakdale location opens, the employee who fills this role will support the Edina location.
A $1,000.00 sign-on bonus will be offered and paid out in two increments; $500.00 to be paid out on the pay period after completing 3 months and $500.00 to be paid out on the pay period after completing 6 months. Internal applicants are not eligible for the sign-on bonus.
Preventative Cardiology Clinic (PCC) is an operating division of Infinite Health Collaborative (i-Health), a group of local medical practices, owned and led by its physicians, on a mission to give patients more control over their healthcare. Essential Functions:
- Verifies patient information by interviewing patient, recording medical history, confirming purpose of visit.
- Measure vital signs, including weight, blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and document all information in patient's chart.
- Monitor stress testing under appropriate supervision
- Holter monitor placement
- Assist physician and physician assistant in exam rooms.
- Give instructions or results to patients as instructed by physician or nurse practitioner either in person or by phone/email/portal
- Ensure all related reports, labs and information is filed and available in patients' medical records prior to their appointment.
- Keep exam rooms stocked with adequate medical supplies, maintain instruments, prepare sterilization as required.
- Maintain all logs and required checks (i.e. refrigerator temperatures, emergency medications, expired medications, oxygen, cold sterilization fluid change, etc.).
- Assist with prior authorizations
- Any and all other duties as assigned
Education and Experience Requirements:
- Graduation from a Medical Assistant Program
- 1+ years' experience of Medical Assistant experience in a clinic setting.
