This is a semi-skilled position under supervision, responsible for controlling the swimming area to prevent accidents, assisting swimmers, enforcement of designated water, beach, park rules and regulations, and promotion of park use and activities.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Must be at least 16 years of age and must have the ability to read, write and follow written and oral instructions. Candidates must obtain a current Lifeguard Training Certificate, current CPR certification, and First Aid certification prior to hire date. Employees will be eligible for full reimbursement for lifeguard training. Must have own means of transportation.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Have required certifications issued by the American Red Cross.
Offers of employment will be contingent upon successfully passing a criminal history background check prior to beginning employment with Washington County.
