Join our team as a Senior Project Manager!

The Senior Project Manager oversees multiple projects and/or cross-functional development initiatives involving significant collaboration across departments such as software, manufacturing, marketing, customer service, finance, and sales. In this role, you will have accountability for ensuring the successful delivery of projects, managing technical aspects, costs, and schedules. This also entails effective coordination and communication with various teams to ensure smooth project progress and achievement of objectives.

You will:

  • Manage multiple projects in parallel.
  • Create project charters collaboratively, getting buy-in from key stakeholders, including completion criteria.
  • Make sure project requirements are defined as completely as is practical before project works starts.
  • Identify the scope of the project and involves all necessary functional areas.
  • Manage requirements and scope change as the project progresses, makes sure stakeholders understand the costs of scope and requirements creep as part of the decision process.
  • Work with project team to lay out project schedule and milestones. When applicable, need to break down deliverables into incremental add value deliverables.
  • Monitor project progress and takes corrective action as needed.
  • Ensure project technical deliverables are tested and technical performance is verified.
  • As needed, ensure go to market plan is planned and technical inputs are provided to marketing.
  • As needed, ensure training is planned, coordinates inputs to training for manufacturing, sales, customer service, finance, etc.
  • Inform management of the ongoing status of projects.
  • Conduct post-project assessments. Accumulates and disseminates, as appropriate, any lessons learned, including technical, cost/schedule, people related.
  • Provide feedback to senior management and communicates project status.
  • Work with senior management team to assess development needs, define projects, and set priorities.
  • Partner with other PMO resources to define and educate stakeholders on PMO processes, tool, and templates like Project Lifecycle, Intake Process, Prioritization, tradeoffs, governance, etc.
  • Other duties as assigned.

You have:

  • 4-year college degree, Engineering, Computer, or Software preferred; other applicable degrees with demonstrated aptitude and experience will also be considered.
  • 5+ years of direct experience managing technical and non-technical projects of three to ten people and 3 to 24 months duration.
  • Experience with standard project management and development tools such as One Plan, AzDo, Microsoft Project, Jira, Domo, etc.
  • Experience with different software development practices such as Agile, Scrum, Iterative, Waterfall, SAFe and other software development practices.
  • Experience with different communication, reporting, and dashboard tools such as Teams, Confluence, Wiki, etc.
  • Able to be assertive and proactive without being confrontational or abrasive.
  • Able to interact with many different types of individuals including software developers, engineers, executives, manufacturing personnel, and other business professionals.
  • Must have demonstrated personal skills and abilities to manage projects.
  • Must have experience in a matrix organization where the project team members are not in the direct reporting chain.

Physical Demands:
While performing the essential duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use a computer keyboard, monitor and mouse, telephone and printer; reach with hands, and arms, talk, see and hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, stoop or kneel and must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.

Work Environment:

Indoors (A/C); nonsmoking; the majority of this job function is performed in an office setting requiring normal safety precautions. However, there may be job duties that require the employee to spend time in the manufacturing areas exposed to machinery and noise; eye protection occasionally required. Occasionally works in outside weather conditions. Occasionally works near moving mechanical parts and in high, precarious places and is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, risk of electrical shock and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet to moderate.
