About the Opportunity

DMI, LLC is seeking a QA / Test & Evaluation Specialist to join us.

Duties and Responsibilities:

    Develops, implements, and maintains quality assurance/configuration management programs in support of a variety of software, hardware, and services.
  • Establishes standards for life cycle, documentation, development methods, testing and maintenance.
  • Develops and defines major and minor characteristics of quality/configuration management (including metrics and scoring parameters) and determines requisite quality control/configuration management resources for an actual task order.
  • Conducts and participates in formal and informal reviews as predetermined points throughout the system life cycle.
  • Serves as liaison between Program Management and other functional groups to resolve issues regarding quality assurance/configuration management.
  • Collaborate with software engineers to develop effective test strategies and plans.
  • Reviews and evaluates software products and services for adherence to government directives, standards, and guidelines.
  • Performs software testing at all levels from module or unit testing.
  • Writes software test plans in support of software design to ensure the integrity of test plans.
  • Interfaces with the software development group throughout the software development process.
  • Develops test data and predefines specific test acceptance criteria.
  • Supports the software configuration management process and understands all software components and their interface requirements.
  • Perform in an Agile environment (Sprint Planning, Daily Stand-ups, Sprint Reviews, and Sprint Retrospectives).
  • Participate in Sprint Planning, Daily Stand-ups, Sprint Reviews, and Sprint Retrospectives.
  • Review and analyze system requirements, specifications, user documentation, help files, and other project documentation to ensure quality of the products and test to be developed.
  • Ensure proper version control and configuration management of all test cases developed and test environments used.
  • Develop and maintain good professional working relationships with team members and client personnel.
  • Identify, document, and report defects to software engineers.
  • Assist software engineers with troubleshooting defects, and track defects to closure.
  • Conduct post-release / post-implementation smoke testing.
  • Work with the project team in support of creating and presenting customer briefings.
  • Familiar with various testing techniques, various test & defect management tools, such as JIRA
  • Ability to lead/mentor other team members, on and offshore
  • Able to Fill the Role of QA Lead as Needed
  • Able to work in a faced paced environment often testing across multiple environments at the same time. Must be able to successfully multi-task
  • Generally regarded as an expert in their particular discipline or technology, with advanced technical skills
Qualifications

Education and Years of Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Science, Physical Science, or a related technical or functional discipline, or six (6) years of general experience is considered equivalent to a bachelor's degree
  • Seven (7) years of experience as a Quality Assurance Tester (Test Engineer) or similar role, with at least four (4) years of specialized project experience
  • At least three (3) years of experience with Agile methodologies

Required and Desired Skills/Certifications:

  • Proven history of successfully coordinating and executing all aspects of testing efforts from project inception to post launch.
  • Demonstrated experience with various forms of software testing: functional, non-functional, integration, system, regression, and end-to-end testing.
  • Experience with Jira or other issue/project tracking software.
  • Experience with manual, web service, and database testing.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact with business and technical personnel at all levels of an organization.
  • Strong observational skills, analytical, and results oriented.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, and a passion to learn.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Proficiency using Microsoft Office Suite.
