Location: St. Paul, MN or Remote

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Plan, implement, and oversee VDC processes through appropriate technology platforms:

  • May include VDC process and BIM model uses existing conditions modeling, cost estimation/model takeoff, 4D phase planning, design reviews, 3D visualization, 3D coordination, site utilization planning, construction system design, digital fabrication, 3D control planning and record modeling.
  • Review design documents for constructability and coordination issues.
  • Provide point of contact for construction team members on VDC processes and reports during all phases of manufacturing and construction.
  • Facilitate collaboration with various project stakeholders.
  • Create fabrication drawings, virtual mockups, and digital prototypes to support production team.
  • Document work process as it relates to improving and/or changing current company process standards.

Other duties as assigned:

  • Assist in training and development on the use of virtual construction tools and methodologies.
  • Assist with project pursuits, proposals, and presentation materials.
  • All integrated construction team members should be active participants in Mortenson's IDAT (Integrated Delivery Advancement Team) community of practice, a companywide network of VDC Specialists and Construction Technology experts, sharing knowledge, best practices and emerging technologies.
  • Daily work planning.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Completion of intermediate level of BIM/VDC software training.
  • Familiarity with Design for Manufacturing and Assembly (DfMA) principles.
  • Detail oriented, sufficient to organize and handle multiple project tasks at a time.
  • Possess basic understanding of construction principles and generally accepted business practices.
  • Microsoft Office, project and pertinent web application skills at an intermediate level.
  • Positive and professional attitude, and strong customer service skills.
  • Ability to interpret and communicate Mortenson/BLUvera policies effectively.
  • Strong communication, teamwork orientation, initiative, problem-solving, and leadership skills.
  • Open to change based on diverse input and feedback.
  • Demonstrate competency with the Autodesk AEC Collection (Revit, Navisworks, AutoCAD, Autodesk ReCap Pro) Revizto, Synchro 4D, Trimble SketchUp, and Bluebeam Revu.
  • Proficiency with Autodesk Construction Cloud, Autodesk Point Layout, Reality Capture platforms (OpenSpace, StructionSite, Faro Scene, Trimble RealWorks), and Adobe Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, etc.)
  • Familiarity with the following workflows and solutions is helpful, but not required; cold formed steel framing software (MWF Pro Metal, MWF Advanced Metal, Tekla Structures), Framecad Detailer, Autodesk Inventor, Parametric Analysis solutions (Dynamo, Grasshopper, Solibri), basic key frame animation, 2D/3D rendering capabilities, 2D/3D post-production capabilities.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering, or equivalent field
  • Minimum 3 years of related experience
  • Valid driver's license
