Job Description
Position Objective: Assure Wagner Spray Tech products conform to specifications set forth in engineering documentation, while operating in the most cost-effective manner. Through active participation and involvement, lead efforts to support supplier development creating process and procedures, drive metrics and digital solutions for gathering and presenting data and information to make better and faster decisions. New product development and sustaining engineering activities in a manner that results in product designs that meet user expectations. Work with key suppliers to improve design to manufacture components and products. Accountabilities: Utilize the ERP system to measure and analyze supplier data to drive action plans related to supplier development and process improvement to meet minimum quality and delivery standards. Support and lead investigations related to non-conforming product and assure corrective actions are implemented that address the root cause, internal to Wagner and external working with suppliers. Participate in the design and deployment of processes, products and projects using APQP/PPAP methodologies for product and part approval to manage change and improve product quality. Ensure manufacturing processes adhere to standards by collaborating with Manufacturing Execution System Team to guide data acquisition, analyze production data and take real time corrective actions based on available information. Implement systems to ensure conformity and accuracy in the production process to ensure products adhere to company standards and requirements. Develop and utilize business intelligence systems to manage customer information and process improvement actions. Preparing reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data. Performs other duties and assumes accountabilities as apparent or as delegated, including mutually agreed upon objectives. Relationship To Others: Provides work direction to outside supplier partners, internal inspection, and test employees. Works closely with peers in Manufacturing and Production Operations, Manufacturing Engineering, Design Engineering, Procurement, Marketing, Product Management, Technical Service, and supplier partners. Travel required: International travel required, 10% estimated.Occasional need to interact with suppliers and Wagner sites outside standard working hours. Dimensions of Position: Position is critical to the company's objective to introduce new products that are successful in the market. Develop new and existing suppliers and create the operational procedures to sustain the gains. Works with sensitive company design and quality data including specifications and costs. Produce and present data for decision making. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Education - Bachelor's degree in engineering or related discipline. Experience- Minimum of 5 years' experience in a manufacturing environment. Technical knowledge of paint application equipment/hydraulics a strong plus. Good working knowledge of various manufacturing processes including injection molding, die casting, machining, extrusions and electro-mechanical assembly, management, and analysis of data. Experience with engineering documentation systems, design drawings, geometric dimensioning and tolerancing, gauging and a variety of inspection/test equipment and design-support tools such as QFD, D-FMEA, PFMEA. Experience with Control Plans, APQP, PPAP, and understanding of 8D (Ishikawa) root cause analysis, process and procedure creation. Familiar with ISO 9000 requirements preferred ASQ or Six Sigma Certification is preferred. Experience working with ERP systems, SAP preferred. Able to produce and present data and analytics for improvement. Skills- * Data analytics, understanding of ERP systems and data collection and presentation, SAP preferred. * Knowledge applying APQP methodologies. * Data analysis including SPC and other statistical methods, understanding of industrial quality control software (minitab and similar). * Working knowledge of Microsoft office products including Power BI. * Quality systems and ISO Standards application and implementation knowledge * Team player who maintains a positive attitude * Analytical skills, Critical thinking. * Should be influential and be able to work with other people. * Driver towards continuous improvement/ quality focused. * Takes initiative and ownership to drive tasks to completion. * Exercises good judgment and decision making. * Possesses complex problem-solving skills.
