Starkey is adding an Electronics Technician II to it's team at our Global Headquarters in Eden Prairie, MN. The Electronics Technician II is responsible for providing hands-on technical support to Manufacturing Engineering and R&D teams throughout the entire product lifecycle, including New Product Development activities, transfer of the process recipe to Production and Repair sites, Continuation Engineering activities, and continuous improvement projects.

Approach and Deployment

  • Assemble prototype devices and sub-assemblies and/or finished-good sample products in support of design and process verification activities
  • Support fixture development and fabrication activities
  • Support process development activities including testing concept processes for viability
  • Act as a hands-on technical interface between Manufacturing Engineering and our stakeholders, including Global Production
  • Provide 'Design for Manufacturing' input to Manufacturing Engineering and R&D teams
  • Participate in engineering design reviews
  • Support the transfer of new products, processes, and equipment into manufacturing- providing technical support, as required
  • Provide troubleshooting support to help resolve technical issuesand challenges
  • Support process improvements, Lean manufacturing processes, continuous improvement, and Continuation Engineering projects

Job Requirements/Education

  • 2-year Electronic Technician degree/certificate or equivalent is desired.
  • High School Diploma is required.

Experience:

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a production or product development environment is desired.
  • Previous experience in the hearing aid industry is helpful not required.
  • Experience assembling and/or troubleshooting electro-mechanical product designs
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office desired
  • Good verbal and written communication skills

This position has access to confidential information including prototype designs

Required Communication

Internal:

  • Communicate with various departments within Starkey
  • Communicate with Starkey's global manufacturing facilities


Working Conditions

Normal business and electronics lab conditions; <5% travel required.
