Wages & Benefits

$65,000 - $75,000 annual salary range; generous paid time off; 11 paid holidays per year; flexible scheduling; medical, dental, vision, life insurance, AD&D, short-term and long-term disability; health savings and flexible spending accounts; agency-sponsored retirement plan with immediate vesting of employer contribution and eligibility for matching.

Schedule

This position is located in an office building and may include evening and/or weekend hours. Some duties and responsibilities can be performed virtually while some requirements are in the community.

A Typical Day in the Life...

A typical day as Sabathani's Senior Director of Housing provides an opportunity to lead Sabathani's Housing Stability Program and ensure housing initiatives are developed and implemented in alignment with best practices. Responsibilities will include the following:

  • Leading bi-weekly Housing team meetings and providing updates from partners.
  • Providing leadership to housing stability staff members to ensure successful execution of housing stability work.
  • Facilitating any necessary and supplemental training for staff.
  • Coordinating with local and state partners to ensure all families in need of housing stability services are receiving them in a timely manner.
  • Overseeing the fulfillment of contract requirements, including meeting projected outcomes, filing maintenance and reporting procedures (SalesForce), ensuring regular internal auditing/monitoring, etc.
  • Delegating task assignments between Coordinators to ensure more families may be assisted efficiently.
  • Adapting effectively and rapidly and leading a large team in being flexible.
  • Creating and reinforcing a culture of strong worker/participant relationships, a strengths-based approach, and high participant engagement in wrap-around programs/services (i.e. cross program and agency referrals and connections).
  • Representing and promoting the agency's mission and programs in a variety of public settings (funder site visits, public presentations, agency network meetings, etc.).
  • Attending leadership meetings and working with Sabathani's leadership team to capitalize on integrated programming/internal resources.
  • Managing an annual program budget and assuming responsibility for all budgeted revenue and expenses.
  • This position will supervise a team of staff supporting the programmatic responsibilities.

Who You Are

  • You hold a bachelor's degree or demonstrate equivalent experience in housing or nonprofit management of at least 8 years.
  • You have at least 5 years of experience managing programs and supervising staff.
  • You have experience overseeing several program initiatives involving staff supervision, program evaluation, contract compliance, and budget oversight.
  • You demonstrate a strong and comprehensive understanding of the Coordinated Entry System in Hennepin County and how each of the programs intersect with that system.
  • You demonstrate a willingness to learn a variety of tasks, a serious work ethic, and a desire to work in a team-orientated environment.
  • You have excellent organizational and communication skills.
  • You demonstrate a thorough understanding of nonprofit practices.
  • You have the ability to work independently, establish priorities, and meet deadlines.
  • You understand the importance of customer service and being professional.
  • You have knowledge and experience working with diverse groups of people of all socioeconomic conditions.
  • You are skilled in conflict management.
  • You are competent in MS Office: Word, Access, Publisher, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • You demonstrate the ability to maintain a good working relationship with all co-workers and the public.
  • You have a valid driver's license, access to reliable transportation (with the ability to travel to sites within a 15-mile radius of the office), and the ability to meet Sabathani's driving record requirements. Please note that if the license was not issued in the state of Minnesota, you have 60 days after becoming a Minnesota resident in which to apply for your Minnesota driver's license or permit (not applicable for new hires living out of state).
