Mead & Hunt, a nationally recognized professional services consulting firm, has a full-time position available for a highly motivated CAD Technician to join our collaborative and innovative Aviation Planning team.
Responsibilities will include supporting the production of technical graphics, maps, and visual information for planning, engineering, and other relevant projects. This position will collaborate closely with energetic team members to help develop clear and concise materials that communicate various project and design components. Experience in AutoCAD drafting in two- and three-dimensional space is essential.
The position will require management and analysis of datasets, and producing graphics that communicate this data. The position will also require use of ESRI GIS software to conduct spatial analysis and applying geoprocessing techniques to support projects and material being produced in AutoCAD.
The candidate will continue to stay current on the latest AutoCAD technologies, tools, and methodologies relevant to the position; effectively communicating this to peers within the organization. This position offers the potential for growth within the organization, and opportunities for client interaction and representation at industry events.
This position may require work to be performed on-site at a project site. Some travel may be required.
The successful candidate will have an associate or bachelor's degree in Cartography, Engineering, Urban Planning, Geography, Social Sciences, or a technical degree in Drafting and 2 years of relevant professional experience; OR, if no degree, must have at least 4 years of relevant professional experience.
The ideal candidate will have any/all of the following:
- Proficiency in 2D and 3D AutoCAD software and drafting
- Strong initiative and a positive attitude
- Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Organization and being task-oriented, with attention to detail and follow through
- Ability to work effectively with peers to resolve issues and implement change
- Proficiency in cartographic principles, map design, and visualization techniques
- Experience collecting and managing geospatial data
- Demonstration of computer-based skills: Microsoft Suite (Windows, Outlook, Excel), and other organizational software.
- Experience with business development activities (presentations, proposal preparation, regular meetings with clients)
