About the Job

Position Overview
This position is for Business Development of Coaching HER in the Tucker Center for Research on Girls & Women in Sport in the School of Kinesiology. Coaching HER is a product the Tucker Center underwritten by NIKE. It is a free online educational platform that upskills coaches to more effectively coach girls. The candidate should have demonstrated initiative-taking experiences, leadership, be comfortable working within an interdisciplinary group of personnel with different levels of experience (undergraduate students through senior faculty and corporate executives), possess excellent collaboration, project management, data management, organization, oral, and written communication skills.

The individual will work under the direction of Dr. Nicole M. LaVoi, the Tucker Center Director and Product Owner of Coaching HER, to execute the shared vision for Coaching HER. This position is based on campus. Per UMN policy, work may be done remotely when appropriate and approved by your manager. All UMN employees are expected to follow applicable public health and safety procedures.

Job Responsibilities

Manage the Coaching HER Technology Platform (25%)

  • Manage and update content in the Learning Management System.
  • Manage the inquiry and troubleshooting emails.
  • Identify and work with technology partner to fix technology issue.
  • Create and prioritize a product backlog (a list of feathers and requirements) that aligns with the product vision and goals, and continuously refine it based on user feedback and changing business needs.
  • Ensure Coaching HER is compliant with all relevant regulations and standards, and manage any legal considerations related to the product.
  • Maintain a deep understanding of the competitive landscape and emerging trends that may impact and/improve the product's success.
  • Keep domain license updated.
  • Provide quarterly report on user data from Google Analytics and Airtable.

Manage Curriculum Development (15%)

  • Manage process for new content creation and recruitment of subject matter experts.
  • Manage integration of translations of existing content into foreign languages.
  • Continuously monitor the product's performance and gather feedback from customers and stakeholders and use data-driven insights to make informed decisions, prioritize future improvements, and content development.

Dissemination and Implementation (45%)

  • Develop, manage, and execute a dissemination and implementation plan for Coaching HER.
  • Identify and develop organizational relationships for adoption of Coaching HER.
  • Manage partnerships of and relationships with stakeholders who have adopted and use Coaching HER.
  • Deliver workshops (e.g., virtual, webinars, in person workshops, conference presentations).
  • Travel when required to socialize, disseminate, speak about and raise awareness for Coaching HER and Body Confident Sport (~2-4 trips a year).
  • Develop Coaching HER promotions, marketing and communication assets.

Stakeholder Management (15%)

  • Manage the grant maker relationship with NIKE.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for all internal and external stakeholders across a variety of roles (e.g. customers, partners, legal, contracts, media, organizations etc.) on matters related to Coaching HER.
Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • BA/BS degree or a combination of related education and work experience to equal at least four years.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organization and management skills.
  • Experience with detailed documentation, data analysis, data management, and project management.
  • Interpersonal skills necessary to communicate effectively with stakeholders, team members and project collaborators.
  • Demonstrated commitment and ability to collaborate effectively with people from a variety of communities, backgrounds, and identities.

Preferred Qualifications

  • MS/MA or PhD in Kinesiology, Exercise Science, or sport science related discipline.
  • Passion for making a difference for girls and women in and through sport.
  • Experience with learning management systems (LMS).
  • Knowledge and/or network pertaining to the sport stakeholder landscape (youth, club, NGO/NGB, etc.)
  • Experience in mentoring personnel.
  • Demonstrated team-oriented mindset.
  • Demonstrated capacity for collaboration across the academic-industry setting.
  • Previous experience with a commitment to excellence.
