The candidate will act as the technical authority over assigned electro-mechanical fire protection systems. These systems may include; water delivery systems e.g. fire pump and piping systems, fire suppression piping /distribution systems and/or fire alarming devices. Direct fire protection experience is not required.
The candidate will provide technical support to maintenance, manufacturing and safety organizations as it relates to assigned systems. The candidate will define operational requirements, perform technical evaluations and calculations as needed, provide field work on assigned systems and manage design changes through a management of change control process.
The candidate will be responsible for interpreting drawings and technical specifications on assignment systems, become familiar with NPFA code requirements.

Requires a Q clearance; however all qualified candidates will be considered regardless of their current clearance status. The ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy Q clearance is required.
