Starkey Hearing is adding a Sr. Electronics Technician to our team in Eden Prairie, MN at our Global Headquarters. This position is responsible for PCBA, Acoustic, and Wireless Test System/Test Fixture construction, validation, repair, maintenance, support, and some troubleshooting job under support of team engineers. This position is also responsible for misc. requests from team engineers during project development, such as product testing, data collection, and preliminary analysis. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Test Engineering and Manufacturing Support Jobs

  • Test system and test fixture construction, validation, troubleshooting, maintenance, and support.
  • Manufacturing support for test systems in use.
  • Setting up, maintaining, and repairing electronic systems, devices, and fixtures being used in the lab and manufacturing productions.
  • Have knowledge of lab instruments, such as DMM, Oscilloscope, Powersupply, etc. Have soldering experience for PCBA, device repair.
  • Able to read and understand basic circuit schematics.
  • Provide Design for Manufacturing input to Mechanical & Microelectronic Engineering for all new designs.
  • Perform testing and analysis of hearing aid components from industry suppliers.
  • Order & track components to support product development activities.
  • Act as a technical interface between engineering and manufacturing.
  • Participate in design review and Failure modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA) meetings.
  • Develop hardware and software test plans to verify functionality and quality.
  • Generate test reports and engineering specifications.
  • Learn and utilize all application software and software tools developed by Test Engineering and other engineering groups in the company.
  • Help drive process improvements and lean product development process.
  • Train production staff on all new and changed processes.
  • Create and approve engineering and production release documents.
  • Serve as a technical interface to Continuation Engineering.
  • Provide technical support to resolve issues pertaining to existing products.
  • Review product quality grid reviews / failure reports.

Support the transfer of new designs into manufacturing

o Train production staff on all new and changed processes
o Create and approve engineering and production release documents
o Provide technical support to manufacturing
o Troubleshoot and resolve technical performance issues
o Check and verify quality

Maintain and support existing products and features
o Serve as a technical interface to Continuation Engineering
o Provide technical support to resolve issues pertaining to existing products
o Support Homologation Efforts
o Review product quality grid reviews / failure reports

Perform Lead Technician duties
o Mentor, coach, and provide work direction to technicians
o Train technicians on hearing aid design and product development process

JOB REQUIRMENTS

Minimum Education, Certification and Experience Requirements
Education

o 2-year Electronic Technician degree/certificate or equivalent is desired.
* Experience
o Minimum of 5+ years related experience as Electrical/Electronics technician

Knowledge/Technical Requirements
* Intermediate / Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office required
* Intermediate / Advanced knowledge of product development processes for standard and custom products
required
* Intermediate / Advanced knowledge of standard and custom product manufacturing required
* Intermediate knowledge of ANSI, IEC, and homologation standards required
* Intermediate knowledge of geometrical tolerance desirable.

* Excellent attention to detail required
* Good verbal and written communication skills required
* Good organizational skills required
* Must be self- motivated and able to work in a fast-paced environment
* Proficiency with testing equipment used in product development
* Excellent Manual dexterity required

WORK CONTEXT

Working Conditions
Normal business and electronics lab conditions
<10% travel required

Equipment Operation
* Acoustic Test Chambers, Audio Analyzers, O-Scope, Power Supply, DMM, Microscope, Soldering Iron, UV light,
drills, Precision hand tools
