Job Description
The Richfield Public School District currently has volunteer opportunities available for the 2020-2021 school year. Seeking Crossing Guards to monitor street intersections and assist students and families who are walking or bicycling to school. The first day of on-street crossing guard duty will be Monday, September 14. Certain crossings may be staffed by an additional crossing guard or a student safety patrol member. Time Commitment: 1-3 hours daily, depending on location, split between school arrival and dismissal. We anticipate most shifts to take place 7:00-8:45 a.m. and 2:00-4:00 p.m.

This position requires passing a mandatory 90-minute online training course (access to a personal computer required to complete). A background check will also be conducted.

Physical requirements: All crossing guards are required to be able to guide students from one location to another, typically across the street, for at least one hour at a time. All applicants must be able to work outside including during inclement weather.

This is an initiative of the RPS Safe Routes to School program.
