MANAGER OF MECHANICAL ENGINEERING – EDEN PRAIRIE, MN. Responsible for the leadership and development of the Mechanical Engineering team. Duties include providing technical leadership for mechanical and electro-mechanical system designs, and day-to-day management of the ME team regarding budget, resource allocation, task and process management, staff development, and performance tracking. Reqs. Master’s degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering plus 5 years of experience in progressing roles in product design and development fields. Requires 3 years of experience in: 1) Leading/managing multidisciplinary and cross-functional global teams on new product development and VAVE (Value Analysis Value Engineering) projects using a structured stage-gate process; 2) Incorporating plastic molding and metal fabrication technologies into product development; 3) Developing and testing products for global regulatory standards; 4) Systems integration with Electro-mechanical devices and Controllers; 5) Coordinating Component, and Product level functional and reliability testing; 6) Implementing product development best practices (such as DFM, NPI, PPAP); and, 7) Implementing Project Management best practices and tools such as MS Project.
