Position Description

Requirements -

  • Leads and prepares clinical and functional space programs for ambulatory health care services and physician practices incorporating and applying experience in health care operations, LEAN and other process improvement techniques, and emerging care models such as medical home and integrated care delivery. 
  • Facilitates the integration and consolidation of geographically dispersed health system ambulatory services, medical practices, and ancillary services into new health system-branded, destination facilities.  
  • Facilitates and leads programming process with health system clients to align building programs and services with client strategies and market needs.
  • Leads discussions with physicians, health care executives, and other project stakeholders to obtain pertinent operational and strategic data required for building space programs.
  • Directs and leads architectural firms on the development of schematic design plans for programs and services to ensure alignment with health system strategies, industry best practices, and current trends in medical practice operations.    
  • Regularly educates members of the development and leasing team on key industry and planning trends that impact functional design, tenant recruitment strategies, and the organization of service delivery models.
  • Develops and maintains database of planning benchmarks and programming tools based on current industry standards, project performance data, and case study results.
  • Reviews Request for Proposals and provides differentiated written responses that describe organizational clinical and strategic programming capabilities, participates in new project interviews, and prepares content for health system presentations and marketing materials.
  • Analyzes, collects, and presents data for key project decision-making on project scope, program configurations, clinical adjacencies, medical staff integration and outpatient service delivery. 
  • Searches out and participates in continuing education, seminars, and gatherings that explore new directions in outpatient care in order to help clients visualize oncoming trends in care provision.
 
EducationBachelor's degree in Architecture from a NAAB accredited school. 

Certification – Registered architect, NCARB certification a plus.  American College of Healthcare Architects (ACHCA) a plus.  Lean Programming Certification a plus.
 
Experience – 5 to 10 years planning ambulatory care facility projects such as hospital based ambulatory care centers, group practice facilities, medical office building suites, ASCs, imaging centers, etc.  Concentration in physician based outpatient care.
