We are looking for a technically skilled, results oriented, entrepreneurial Senior Machine Design Engineer to join our team. You will be interfacing with a variety of resources, venders, and clients so excellent written and oral communication skills are a must.
Do you have a history of bringing new equipment and machines on line from conceptualizing the solution through to build and debug? Are you energized by the challenge of finding ways to invent and then manufacture a new machine? Do you enjoy the investigation of multiple conceptual approaches to solving a production need?
Overall Position Description:
Coordinate or perform a wide range of machine design and build activities in a professional, cost effective and expeditious manner. Emphasis will be on a systems engineering approach. Primary direction will be received from a Project Manager, Client or Solid Design Solutions, Inc. CEO.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Qualifications:
* 4 year Engineering Degree
* 4-8 years working with CAD in a Machine Design role
* Experience with G D and T
* Experience designing machines and fixtures for clean room applications preferred
* Fluency in multiple Solid Modeling CAD packages. Unigraphics (UG/NX), SolidWorks, ProE, Inventor or SDRC-Ideas (preferred)
* Superior interpersonal communication skills, both written and verbal
* Proficient with the use of Excel, Word and Microsoft Project software’s
* Experience with MathCad preferred
* Thorough understanding of various manufacturing and production processes
* Highly organized, detail oriented, able to work effectively both independently and in teams
* Significant experience reviewing and approving engineering drawings required
* Experience with ISO 9001, Quality Systems
* Other Certifications

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Meet with new and current Customers to create detailed design specifications, schedules and budgets
- Develop conceptual design approaches to meet requirements as defined in the Design Specification created working with the Client. Develop conceptual machine designs, select major sub-system components and integrate
- Create or verify 3D CAD solid models and engineering drawings, components and assemblies
- Create and maintain or oversee 3D solid models, bill of material data, engineering drawings and product cost models
- Oversee, receive, machine and/or assemble parts as required for new machine build and test
- Select components based on performance requirements as outlined within the created Design Specification
- Coordinate and oversee the activities of internal Engineers, Designers/Drafters and external personnel as well as suppliers to complete design, component creation, build and test activities
- Train or manage other Solid Design Solutions, Inc. employees as well as external personnel as requested by the Organization
- Other duties as may be required to support the business activities of Solid Design Solutions, Inc.
- Represent Solid Design Solutions, Inc. in a professional manner in all dealings related to the company
- Keep confidential any and all product development, marketing and/or financial activities or plans of Solid Design Solutions, Inc.
- Inspect 3D solid models created by other designers to ensure proper design methods are being used to ensure proper fit and function
Qualifications:
* 4 year Engineering Degree
