PrairieCare, a private psychiatric healthcare system in the Minneapolis/St. Paul metropolitan area, is recruiting a talented and experienced Social Work Director. The Social Work Director plans, manages and directs all Social Work services that are provided at PrairieCare to ensure quality patient care is delivered and maintained.
Responsibilities of this position include the following:
professional development,
administration,
fiscal management
and quality assurance within the Maple Grove Social Work Department.
As department leader, the Social Work Director is responsible for:
Special emphasis on training and education of social work staff
Consults with non-Maple Grove site directors and supervisors to ensure consistency and standardization of the social work function at all sites and in all programs.
Is responsible for assurance of psychosocial assessments, treatment plan development, case management, discharge planning, and psycho-educational groups at all sites.
Adheres to the NASW Code of Ethics and ensures compliance with internal policies related to the social work function, as well as compliance with requirements set forth by the MN Department of Health for hospital licensure, The Joint Commission, CMS, and other regulatory bodies.
Assures quality and monitors processes.
The Social Work Director will meet regularly with all Social Work staff to review and coordinate facility and department activities.
Provides clinical supervision within the scope of licensure.
Demonstrates support for the departmental strategic plan and provide leadership for establishing unit vision that is consistent with an organizational direction and goals.
Requirements:
Requires a Master’s degree from an accredited school of social work and must be qualified by education and experience in the social services needs of mentally ill children.
Must have current MN licensure as a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW).
Previous supervisory experience is preferred.
Computer skills using Microsoft Office Products including Word, Outlook, Excel and Powerpoint.
The employee is required to be knowledgeable of mental health and chemical dependency and display a professional attitude in all aspects of his/her performance.
Must be able to effectively communicate in written and verbal form.
