St. David's Center is hiring caring individuals to work as Personal Care Assistants (PCAs). PCAs provide in-home assistance and care to individuals with developmental and physical disabilities, chronic health problems, and/or mental health diagnoses.
Types of home- and community-based assistance provided by a PCA will vary based on client need, but could include:
  • Personal cares, including helping clients brush their teeth, toileting and/or bathing
  • Helping with independent living skills, such as teaching clients how to cook meals
  • Behavior direction and intervention such as affirming good behavior
This position offers experience working in the human services field with a variety of special needs diagnoses, the opportunity to build lasting, rewarding relationships and the chance to cultivate a higher level of independence for individuals with disabilities.
Schedule: This position offers flexible scheduling! Part-time afternoon, evening and weekend hours are available.
Pay: $12.00 per hour.

Qualifications:
Required:
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Must have a valid driver's license, reliable transportation and an
  • Applicants must have the ability to use clear and understandable written and verbal English
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both through written and verbal communication
  • Desire to work with children & young adults and a willingness to learn are essential
Preferred:
  • Training/education in social sciences, health care, human services, and/or education
  • Experience with procedures for caring for clients with behavior/medical needs
