Tierney Brothers, Inc. is looking for an experienced Sales Engineer to provide engineering development, design integration, sales and technical support, and quality assurance for all audio/visual systems.


ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
50% - Sales Consultations:  Attends scheduled customer consult meetings with Sales Representatives. Setup and participation of client demonstrations and pilot implementations.  Advises customer of design ideas, receives feedback on customer needs, and gathers information for design phase of process..
30% - Engineering: Develops design drawings based upon system requirements.  Communicates with vendors on product information, pricing, and delivery as needed.  Completes bid work to include attending bid planning meetings to identify customer needs and budget requirements, design, and bid submittal.  Creates fast track proposals. 
15% - Technical Support:  Provides technical assistance to the system integration Sales Engineers, Design Engineers, Coordinators, Project Managers, Installers, and Sales Representatives as needed on projects.  Answers questions and educates customers and staff on audio/visual systems.  Develops and conducts training for staff on technical processes.  Communicate and coordinate between customers, vendors, Coordinators and other staff on project demands and final completion.  Provide basic system training and user guides to customers as needed.  Solve problems in a calm and orderly fashion as they arise to ensure quality and customer satisfaction.  Perform a pre-installation site visit to inspect the site for any possible project problems.  Review completed projects, making sure that the project is completed accurately and to the customer’s satisfaction.  Answer technical questions and concerns on current and completed system integration installations.  Attend project meetings as necessary to meet the customer’s needs.  Communicate with vendors on product information, confirming pricing and delivery as needed.  Communicate project status to the Engineering Manager and Sales Reps as requested. 
5% - Miscellaneous 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Two year technical training, a Bachelor’s degree in a related field plus 5 years work experience in related field required.  Prior network experience is preferred.

 

CERTIFICATIONS:
ACMP Aruba Certified Mobility Professional), Aruba ClearPass, AirWave Network Management CCNA (Cisco Certified Network Associate), Cisco Prime Infrastructure, ATSP (Adtran Technical Support Professional, Infocomm CTS or CTS-D, preferred.

 

Experience working with the following systems is preferred.

  • Polycom Telepresence
  • SAFARI Montage
 

Experience with digital signage, and digital video encoding, streaming, and archiving.  Experience working with network switching and routing, servers, cables, racks, firewalls and client networking.

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

 
 
  • Ability to read and understand schematics, signal flow diagrams, and architectural drawings.
  • Knowledge of current technology and trends in the audio/visual field.
  • Ability to research, evaluate and recommend products based on an analysis of customer needs.  
  • Ability to communicate effectively with customers and co-workers.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. 
  • Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions. 
  • Ability to organize, prioritize, and delegate tasks to appropriate engineering support staff.
