Job Description
This is an exciting opportunity to get in on the ground floor with the hottest software company in Minnesota! In this role, you’ll play a critical role in building a world-class demand generation engine to support Code42’s aggressive growth objectives. If you’re the right candidate, you know Marketo’s features, tricks—even hiccups—so well, you could write a playbook (and if you’ve already started drafting one, we’d love a peek!). As our hands-on Marketo expert/super user, you’ll be the Marketo go-to person who provides leadership, guidance and assistance for everything Marketo, including:
 
  • Ideating and implementing sophisticated, Marketo-powered, multi-step lead generation, scoring, nurturing and qualification programs
  • Conceptualizing, creating, executing and optimizing integrated online/offline marketing programs to generate sales leads and promote corporate/product awareness
  • Developing and implementing the global marketing database strategy with the goal of improving demand generation across multiple routes to market (global, regional and vertical marketing efforts)
  • Managing prospect and customer data within the global marketing automation platform (Marketo) according to marketing principles and best practices:
    • Manage data flows in and out of the system (including integration with CRM system)
    • Develop and maintain ongoing data quality and hygiene processes
    • Build and implement database heath scorecard/reporting designed to identify issues and gaps
  • Building and maintaining standards and processes for key segmentations, list building and reporting across multiple marketing channels
  • Providing data structure and adherence leadership for current and future data integrations to/from the marketing automation platform
  • Maintaining data quality and acting as a liaison to IT and Sales Operations, as well as external data vendors and contractors, to optimize the quality, integrity and availability of customer and prospect data in order to feed and accelerate marketing and sales revenue programs
  • Managing marketing technology needs related to marketing automation, CRM, data maintenance, prospecting and interfacing
  • Performing administrative support tasks related to users, campaigns and all other Marketo settings
 
SKILLS AND REQUIREMENTS
  • 5-8 years experience in a B2B marketing data management/demand generation environment, including:
    • 2-4 years experience using a B2B marketing automation platform (i.e. Marketo or Eloqua) to develop advanced programs
    • 1-5 years experience implementing/integrating and automating data between marketing automation tools and current CRM tools, cloud connectors, etc.
    • 1-5 years experience using Web analytics tools such as Google Analytics
    • Basic understanding of HTML, CSS and digital marketing
  • Track record of success in planning and executing data improvement strategies to meet demand generation and revenue goals
  • Knowledge of data management and quality best practices
  • Strong project management and planning skills for seamlessly executing multiple projects simultaneously
  • Ideal candidate will be flexible and have the ability to think/act strategically as well as roll up their sleeves and work as an individual contributor to meet goals
  • Proven technical, analytical and quantitative skills coupled with effective communication skills that enable translating complex data and/or issues into productive discussions/actions at the executive and operational levels
  • Strong writing/proofreading skills and positive, high-energy, team-focused attitude are musts.
  • Self-starter who knows when to pull the right people in to a project
  • Ability to develop/edit compelling, succinct, error-free marketing materials; familiarity with AP writing style a plus
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills combined with strong organizational, prioritization and project management skills
  • Ability to initiate tasks and work independently, with maniacal attention to detail
  • Ability to quickly shift gears as needed, without losing equilibrium
  • Experience in working with Sales, Sales Operations, Marketing, and IT teams in developing and implementing processes, business requirements and systems
  • Expertise with Microsoft Office applications, relational databases, and marketing data management tools and principles
  • Bachelor’s degree required; MBA or relevant Masters in a technical field is preferred
  • Must be willing and able to travel occasionally
