Tetra Pak Processing Systems Americas Inc. produce and supply high quality process solutions to the food industry - Dairies (milk, cream, yogurt, milk powder etc), Beverage producers (juice, nectars, still and carbonated drinks) and Prepared Food industry (mainly tomato, soups, sauces, desserts, fruit preparation and baby food). We are experts in different heat treatment and processing techniques for both aseptic and non-aseptic food production.
Overview of the Position:
Tetra Pak Processing Systems Americas Inc. has an opening for a Stainless Steel Welder. We are looking for individuals with a high personal drive with both theoretical and practical skills.
The Stainless Steel Welder is responsible for manufacturing and delivering Branded Processing Units (BPU) to our customers. This involves activities such as performing sanitary stainless steel fabrication and TIG welding, daily task planning, quality control for self and peers as well as manufacturing accuracy and efficiency.
Main tasks and responsibilities:
Perform stainless steel TIG welding, fabrication and assembly of Branded Processing Units (BPU)
Ensure manufacturing and assembly are in accordance with Tetra Pak's strict Quality Standards
Perform Boroscope inspection as per QC protocol
Perform pipe welds according to standard EN-ISO 5817, class C, as a minimum
Ensure that assembly drawings are followed and adhered to
Report production hours associated with projects
Report production related issues in order to reduce / eliminate manufacturing delays
Ensure that scheduled delivery targets are met
Ensure that unused inventory is returned to parts supply chain once project has been completed
Perform other job related duties as assigned in the production factory
Provide feedback, coaching, performance evaluations, and corrective actions to team members
Work according to 5S, WCM and lean manufacturing processes
Follow maintenance schedule for workshop equipment
Ensure good housekeeping practices are followed as per Tetra Pak Quality System
Participate in daily Production Meetings
Drive and follow safe working practices
Qualifications:
Formal welding / fabrication technical degree
Mechanical training and skills required
3 years of sanitary stainless steel fabrication experience - preferably within the food, pharmaceutical or beverage industry
3 years of sanitary stainless steel TIG welding experience with pipe welds according to standard EN-ISO 5817, class C, as a minimum - preferably within the food, pharmaceutical or beverage industry
Candidate must be able to demonstrate appropriate skill levels by passing vertical, overhead and horizontal weld tests
Computer skills including Office applications, Word, Excel etc
Ability to read and understand drawings and Bill Of Materials (BOM)
Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills
Team player, high level of personal drive, quick learner, self-motivated, detail oriented, accurate and a strong sense of urgency
Willing to work overtime as needed
Ability to achieve scheduled deadlines
Ability to assign and positively influence the work of others
Must be able to work independently and with minimum supervision
