CNC Machinist - Leads, Class A or B - Sheet Metal Industry

Job Description
Lake Air Metal Products is a full service provider of precision sheet metal fabrication, machining, and assemblies. We serve diverse customers and industries such as medical, aerospace and other demanding industries. We have an exciting opportunity for Leads, Class A or B Machinists to join our team. Shifts: 1st - 5:00 am - 3:30 pm (M-Th)
2nd 3:30 pm - 2:00 am (M-Th)
Weekend - 6:00 am - 6:00 pm (Fri - Sun) award time of 4.0 hours per weekend
Responsibilities:
• Program, set up and run very complex prototypes
• Perform set up operations for production work
• Observe machine operation to detect malfunction such as worn or damaged cutting tools
• Inspects work piece for conformance to specifications
• Adjust machine feed and speed and changes cutters to machine parts according to specifications as needed
• Mentor other machinists to promote the overall growth of the company
Experience/Technical Skills:
• Must be a Class A or B Machinist with experience in milling and turning
• CNC experience with vertical machining centers including 4th axis - Doosan and/or KIA machining experience preferred
• Knowledge of advanced set up, machine feed and speed and shop math
• Experience using Surfcam &Mastercam
• Proven ability to program and an in-depth understanding of blueprint reading including GD&T
• You MUST have the required tools to set up and run CNC mills
• Must be a team player with an excellent attitude, have the ability to work independently along with the willingness to work beyond a 40 hour week when business dictates
• Must have a basic understanding of manufacturing safety regulations and a willingness to follow correct safety procedures at all times
• Ability to frequently lift and/or move 50 lbs
• Good communication and interaction skills
• Must have a minimum of a High School Diploma or GED (Trade School a PLUS)
