The Arc Greater Twin Cities is looking for a qualified Director of Individual Giving. The Director of Individual Giving leads annual fund planning and implementation, gift planning, solicitation and stewardship of select individual donors and event sponsors and audience development for fundraising special events and projects. Demonstrates the ability to deal diplomatically with a wide variety of people, possesses strong organizational skills and an ability to delegate tasks with an attention to detail. The Director will work in close collaboration with the CEO, CDO, members of the Development and Program Teams and key volunteer leadership to achieve the fundraising goals of the organization.
Major Responsibilities:
Leads and implements annual fund efforts including direct mail solicitations, staff and volunteer phoning.
Provides annual fund progress reports to the CDO, CEO, development volunteers and board of directors as requested.

Identifies, cultivates, and solicits individual prospects for gifts of $500+. Maintains regular contact with 50+ individual prospects annually.
Recruits and manages 15 to 25 volunteers within a committee structure who help design, solicit and execute the Gala to meet budgeted goals.
Personally solicits renewing sponsors, table hosts and new prospects, and support the CEO, CDO and volunteers as they secure sponsorships and donors.
Qualifications:
BA/BS required
3-5 years experience in development; experience with annual giving and event management preferred.
Excellent time and project management experience, team relationship skills
Ability to design, implement, and direct fundraising initiatives
Experience in organizing donor and special events
Ability to persuasively convey the mission and programs of Arc GTC to diverse groups, including funders, board members and other stakeholders who are important to the organization’s overall prosperity
Ability to use interpersonal skills, listening, diplomacy and tact to build strong relationships with current and potential funders and team members
Well-developed written and oral communication, negotiation and organizational skills
Ability to manage and track multiple funding prospects and potential donor relationships, including attention to detail
Creative problem-solving skills and ability to act independently
