Sales Associate


GOAL

  • Develop a relationship with customers… helping them create a beautiful room / home using the skills acquired during Schneiderman’s training programs

IMAGE

  • Maintain a professional appearance consistent with Schneiderman’s dress code

SALES PRODUCTIVITY

  • Monthly establish agreed upon sales goals to be achieved which include written sales, protection plan sales and daily sales measures
  • Each day establish the day’s sales goal, monthly sales progress and action plan for the day to include planned appointments, product status calls to customers, training initiatives, etc.
  • Each day record the customer opportunities for the day and the results of those opportunities

SALES

  • Meet and greet customers entering the store, using an appropriate greeting that welcomes them to the store and thanks them for coming in
  • Maintain a professional and friendly demeanor in every customer interaction
  • Assist customers through the product selection process providing expert furniture choice advice, the end result being a beautiful room achieved for the customer
  • Provide customers with all options available to them throughout the selection process
  • Finalize every sale ensuring the furniture selections are exactly what the customer selected

 

JOB REQUIREMENTS
 




AFTER PURCHASE
 

  • Send a thank you to every customer
  • Provide order status to your customers for products that are “on order" and not yet delivered
  • Call every customer after their furniture items have been delivered to ensure satisfaction

NON – PURCHASING CUSTOMERS

  • Using the established Schneiderman’s system, record customers name and contact
    information, plus product interests on a daily basis
  • Utilizing this system, follow up with customers to answer questions and advise of sale
    events that may interest them
  • Maintain this system so at any time you can easily locate any customer and the product
    they were interested in
  • Obtain customer e-mail addresses for communication of special sale events and
    discounts only available to those on this e-mail list

 

COMPUTER

  • Computer comfort is a plus…
  • Complete and finalize every sale by entering customer and product information
    into Storis (our computer software program)
  • Learn Storis so you can effectively find inventory information, customer
    information, etc.
  • Navigate the internet using Internet Explorer to access furniture vendor websites
    and Schneiderman’s web site (great database of products shown at Schneiderman’s is available here)
  • Microsoft Outlook is used for company e-mail (you will have your own Schneiderman’s e-mail address)
  • Facebook… if you choose to set up a business page for yourself through Schneiderman’s Computers and the Intranet are used for all vendor price lists. You will need tobe able to navigate through these to obtain special order product pricing for yourcustomers

NORMAL DUTIES

  • Price product for promotional sale events using provided event tags and handwriting sale
    prices on those tags
  • Maintain price cards, replacing price cards that are worn
  • Writing clearance / closeout tags as markdowns are taken
  • Maintain the showroom including public workspace. This includes but isn’t limited to:
    o Fluffing pillows
    o Aligning seat cushions
    o Replacing missing price cards
    o Lighting lamps, cabinets, etc
    o Turning on electrical devices (TV’s, DVD players, overhead music, computers)
    o Taking pride in the showroom and giving attention to any needed areas
    o Putting sales kiosks in order assuring all sales tools needed for business are in
    place

EMBRACE TRAINING AND DEVELOPMENT

  • Support all training endeavors by attending all required sales meetings including off site
    vendor meetings
  • Complete all training available via our “on-line training courses".
  • Stay informed of the competitive climate visiting key competitors websites and stores on
    a monthly basis
