Brief Description

We are looking for an individual who wants to be part of a team that provides exceptional service to our clients, and we have an immediate Full-Time opportunity for an Payroll / Accounting Specialist at our office in Vadnais Heights, MN.

This position will be responsible for assisting the Payroll Manager with the processing of multi-state payroll for 500+ employees utilizing Oracle and ADP, coordinating the weekly processing of timecards and processing/distributing pay checks/direct deposits on a bi-weekly schedule, and processing salary adjustments, special payments, and employee payroll deductions. This position will also be responsible for the following:

  • Obtaining up-to-date information on applicable state and federal wage and hour regulations
  • Responding to information requests.
  • Preparing reports for various government agencies, employment verifications, and benefit plan filings.
  • Assisting with the preparation of information for audits.

This position will work closely with Project Managers to set up and maintain information on clients, contacts, projects, and account billing requirements. This position will generate invoices and supporting documentation, analyze project status and profitability, and monitor and collect accounts receivable.

Job Requirements

Required Qualifications:

  • Associate's degree in Accounting.
  • Must have a minimum of three (3) years of previous experience with payroll administration.
  • Previous experience and strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word) and payroll applications such as ADP.
  • Working knowledge of applicable state and federal wage and hour regulations.
  • Demonstrated ability to understand and apply proper taxation of employer paid benefits, as well as prepare account reconciliations of payroll benefit accounts.
  • Must possess strong verbal communication skills and an ability to communicate with employees at all levels throughout the organization.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience working with Oracle software applications.
